Yep..That's right.....6 years to get around to finishing this stocking. My nephew is now 16 and will no doubt find his stocking a little boyish! Since it will probably be staying at my house, that's ok....I will always appreciate it. I haven't added the charms yet, as I usually do that when I sew together the stocking.
Happy Stitching!
An absolutely wonderful design by Moss Creek Designs....and tons of work!! I started this project a couple of weeks or so ago on 32 ct. Belfast. It bothered my eyes so bad that I ended up scrapping it and re-started on a 28 ct. evenweave. It's much easier now!! :) It's slow going as there is quite a bit of over one stitching and speciality stitches and I'm also working on Peacock Pinkeep by Blackbird Designs. When I re-started the project I decided not to start with the same panel as the first go round, so right now I'm working on the back of the etui. The Hollie Stitches on the front panel shutters are probably glad as they have no new vocabulary words to learn for now :))))
This doesn't seem like much work, but I felt like I accomplished quite a bit in the couple of days that I worked on this.

I started this wonderful project by Blackbird Designs on 4-25-09 and absolutely love the old rustic type look of it. It's easy to stitch and the pinkeep only uses two colors of Belle Soie silk thread by Crescent Colours. I'm not sure I would buy the Weeks Dye Works fabric again knowing that it just looks to have been tea/coffee dyed. You could easily make your own! The fabric is actually a bit darker than it appears in the cover photo. I'm thinking to make my own trim out of yarn instead of using the suggested chenille trim. Hobby Lobby has a wide assortment of yarns...I particularly like the kind with lots of bumps and ridges in it. I may even make something that hangs from it. I'll wait a bit and see what strikes me the most :) There is also the needlebook that came with the pinkeep. It uses different threads than the pinkeep and will be my next project in this series. This is the first installment for 2009.....can't wait to see what's next!!!

Well here I am a month later and still no finishes :( I have pulled out one of my favorite WIPs (because of it's beauty), Mermaids of the Deep Blue by Mirabilia and am trying to finish it up. It has been waiting a very long time…lol! Here’s a pic of what I had done before I started working on it again. I mostly have only the beads to put on. Boy is it difficult to see where they go on this fabric! I find myself working on it for a half hour or so and get frustrated enough to put it down….but I’m determined to finish it soon, so I will keep working until it is.
